It is a difficult one Rogues. Johnson brings the ball back very well has tons of heart and a great work ethic and is deceptively strong. Positionally he struggles at times but his style of play suits the current Wigan system of using outside backs as meter makers.
Carney is a beast and I am sure in our system he would do very special things. I've heard from various sources Carney is a done deal but from others Salford will be retaining him.
As I said earlier I hope Johnson is at Wakefield for many years to come as the club needs to start retaining and promoting the quality youth players.
Johnson would be another project signing, Carney the end product. Being greedy and given the fact Sarg is off as well I would like both....if Wakefield are relegated, which hopefully they are not.
I have often in the past criticised out protocol of "chasing rainbows" in relation to young players and project signings so being consistent if it came down to a choice of 2 it would be Carney.
Longwinded answer my friend but a tough one.
