Sorry NK, that came across as a bit harsh on you. I didn't mean it to. I know you're a thoughtful and even handed poster. I respect your view as I'm sure you respect mine. I was angry at the other dick's post. My apologies.

No offence taken whatsoever pal. It’s a time none of us have gone through before and views will differ. I don’t think ours are that far apart in truth. The experiences you’ve had in the past sound horrendous and I hope you’re ok. There’s no way I’d ever expect or want people like yourself to take things like a vaccine against your will. It won’t ever come to that I’m sure and nor should it.
I just know of a lot of people whose sole reason for not having it is ‘I’ll be fine’ and that IMO is poor form, when they have none of the worries people like you do.
UK researchers have analysed the likely impact that a Covid booster shot will have on Omicron and say it could provide around 85% protection against severe illness.
Why would I get the booster? Sod it, it’s just the government trying to control us, it’s just another flu, we can make our own choices, I don’t care if in a few weeks hospitalisations for Covid will likely be higher than they have EVER been.
For the record I hate the Tory’s, I think they’re corrupt and have done a terrible job.
I 100% do not believe the rubbish about governments trying to control us. If you believe that you’re delusional. Just keep asking yourself why?
It is concerning that we will keep going round in circles but at the moment the answer is not to just let everyone catch Covid, let hospitals get overrun and let body’s pile up.
Eventually it may be just another flu that we have regular vaccine against and the science allows you to predict the mutations, but we aren’t there yet.

it still amazes me that people refuse the vaccine because its"experimental".,but are willing to take the chance with a virus thats never been seen in humans before.

People pick and choose to suit their needs and selfishness.
Same people who willingly take paracetamol, ibuprofen and aspirin without knowing the side affects and knowing the small number of people who get them.
I appreciate that you see my personal perspective. However you're missing a few pertinent points. Firstly the "everyone should vaccinate" carries the very real risk of depriving me of my personal liberties. There'll be no concession because of my legitimate concerns. There are people on this very thread advocating for that very thing
Also, the protection to other people is overstated. I understand why, but it's creating a false narrative. As many on here are showing, the vaccines don't stop you catching it or transmitting it. In fact the reduction in transmission is exactly equal to having had the virus. If you've had the virus there is no additional benefit from the vaccine.
Finally, I've just read a report that shows that 5 professional footballers have died in the last decade due to aneurysms. In the last 12 months, since the introduction of vaccines there's been 22. So again I suggest you shouldn't be deciding what's right for any other individual based on your own (potentially misguided) opinions.
As I said in the last post. Leave the final say to each individual to decide what's best for them. Each individual is responsible for their own protection.
Bit of a long winded post to say “I’m an anti vaxxer” good for you! I’m so glad I came here to listen to some morons opinion rather than the scientists. Stfu about transmission. That’s all you anti vaxxers have. It’s not about transmission, it’s about the protection from serious illness
