"Games as big as a grand finals define individuals and clubs. Remember we are only renting these shirts, I had my time in Pat Richards shirt. Ellery and Faz had there time in Sean's, Hampo and Radders in Sam's. You have to make a mark in these shirts that's still there the day you hand it over to someone else. So be aware for 80 minutes you are not only playing but also writing history and creating a legacy. How many people get to actually write history, not many. A big stage demands big players, be inspired. You play for Wigan, now go do it. Good luck." - Martin Offiah, 2010.

Most idiotic post ever goes to Grimmy..... The way to restart should be an arm wrestle between a designated player from each side.

If it came to a question of who would you rather have with ball in hand near the line, Carney or Charnley, who'd you pick?

The Josh of two years ago would win hands-down, but these days I make it even money at the very least.

Can Carney play centre? We've lacked a beast on the inside flank for quite some time now.

I'd take Carney of the two, won't happen though whilst Charnley's under contract. Centre wise we're more than set IMO with Sarginson, Bateman, Gelling and Gildart. It's simply not a smart use of cap money to sign a player in a position we already have covered with good players

Would it be cap money? The rumour is a straight swap for Hampshire.

Also, Sarginson is more or less gone. Given that of the three who remain, only one is an actual centre - and he's still a kid - I'm not sure it looks quite so rosey. Of course, there's an argument that Carney isn't a centre either. But I can't help feeling that we should be able to fit a barnstormer like him in somewhere, and that it would be criminal not to at least try ... one thing we've lacked all season, IMO, is a line-breaker.

Hull FC apparently, there's no way we would bring him in whilst we have Charnley and Manfredi.

At the right price or even on loan perhaps we may be tempted?

If Charnley or Manfredi don't perfrom or get injured do we have a quality winger ready to fill their shoes?

I can see why a player like Carney would be considered, he is an absolute beast and often takes more than one player to stop him.

Carney is unplayable close to the line but he's got plenty of errors in him.

If there was any way of fitting him and the other two wingers in the squad then great but I wouldn't break the bank for him.

Not a big fan of Carney. Had one purple patch but nothing extraordinary before or since. I still believe in Charnley. He will come back to his best again.

Sam Burgess has been given time off by Bath whilst he considers his future in Union.

Full story now on the BBC web page Sports section, it may explain why he was at Leigh on Saturday and not supporting his own Club Bath who had a match on the same day.

I tried to post a link, but for some reason I could not do it.

It looks like he may well be going back to South Sydney. If he does it will be great for our game as it might cause our players to think twice about going to the dark side.
