This only really works if the prop in question can play one of the two roles. We seem stuck with props who can neither make meters and dominate the tackle or control the middle.

Dave Taylor signed for Catalans. Great signing for them and sadly another player that the press linked us with at least that is not coming.

Did we get linked? I'd see even a link with any forward of decent stock as a positive at the moment but I don't see many (any).

If our exits are complete then we just need one big forward to come in IMO but I won't hold my breath. We'll probably sign a 6ft and 15 stone project from a relegated team.

Ah but, that 6ft 15st project may be seen as forward planning with a view to the upcoming reduction in subs, plus as an added bonus he may be one of those rare players who can play from prop to loose forward that seem to be flavour of the month at Wigan.

It's like we've gone to the polar opposite of when Mo was here.

When you hear Wane saying things like he'd love to have a side made up of academy products you have to seriously wonder how long we'll remain competitive.

The only way an all academy produced team would ever come close to working would be if we always held on to the cream of the crop but when we're losing guys like Burgess and we've lost lads like the Tomkins brothers in the past (regardless of them coming back) it's not going to work.

All the top sides in superleague history (including ours) have had a fair sprinkling of top overseas players.

Taylor's inconsistent at best. Has all the ability and none of the drive. He'll have a few good games, probably against us, but when the going gets tough he seems to go missing.
