How many did we take to Old Trafford for the GF? Many more than it would take to fill the DW. How much did people pay for their tickets then? More than they need to for the WCC, add in the neutrals that will be there and the fact we still haven't sold out (we may do but I doubt it) is really poor.
Leeds couldn't even play it at their own ground and yet still turned up more than we are. The fact Leeds is a city has nothing to do with it - their average attendance in those years wasn't a million miles away from we are. It's just an easy excuse to use the fact people can't sit where they usually do because it's dearer. There's still plenty of the cheapest seat left that are still a bargain for such an important game.
I would guess 25/30k? You say that's "Really Poor" I say lets take a little look a touch further back?
1991 2 October Wigan 21-4 Penrith Panthers Anfield, Liverpool 20,152 1992 31 October Brisbane Broncos 22-8 Wigan Central Park, Wigan 17,460 2000 22 January Melbourne Storm 44-6 St Helens JJB Stadium, Wigan 13,394 2001 26 January St Helens 20-18 Brisbane Broncos Reebok Stadium, Bolton 16,041 2002 25 January Bradford Bulls 41-26 Newcastle Knights Alfred McAlpine Stadium, Huddersfield 21,113 2003 14 February Sydney Roosters 38-0 St Helens Reebok Stadium, Bolton 19,807 2004 13 February Bradford Bulls 22-4 Penrith Panthers Alfred McAlpine Stadium, Huddersfield 18,962 2005 4 February Leeds Rhinos 39-32 Bulldogs Elland Road, Leeds 37,028 2006 3 February Bradford Bulls 30-10 Wests Tigers Galpharm Stadium, Huddersfield 19,207 2007 23 February St Helens 18-14 Brisbane Broncos Reebok Stadium, Bolton 23,247
So I don't reckon 20k + will be Really Poor IMO and I'm guessing in may other peoples, especially as you pointed out yourself, your criticising it has "P155 Poor" before we even know how many people actually attend?
As for the Leeds being a City not having to do anything with it, then I reckon a City with say 5x as many people who are from that place may actually attract a a bigger number (Maybe not in % terms but that's a credit to Wiganners) of casual attendees than say Wigan which is far smaller?
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS

Thats a fantastic reply, if you disagree then say so. Do you disagree? Are you happy with just an average derby crowd for the biggest game for 24 years honestly?

I don't think we can make a call on that untill the day, we have no idea how many tickets the RFL might not have sold.
I am getting pretty fed up with the attitude of RL fans, they all rabbitt on about it being the greatest game and yet 2 weeks ago everyone was saying they wouldn't go to cardiff because of the cold, and now people won't by a ticket for the biggest game of the season. It baffles me.

How many have been Sold? Have you read my previous replies? Can you not work out whether I Disagree or not from them? If you can't I suggest you read a bit more carefully?
Am I happy with an Average Derby Crowd? Well I'm certainly not sat Here crying my eyes out over it like some! Especially when no-one knows what's Been sold?
As for Average Derby Crowd, is that Average for last year derby Crowd or Average say 5/10 years ago when twice in 1 season we didn't break 15,000? Then only just got past 15k in the League the year after.

Why? Who's said they're not buying a ticket for what You regard as The biggest game of the season? I'm pretty sure I haven't seen many on here saying there not going?
You then say "I don't think we can make a call on that untill the day, we have no idea how many tickets the RFL might not have sold"! I think you may want to review your outlook on a few things, "Pretty fed up with the attitude of RL Fans" etc
Did you go EVERY GAME last year? Or the Year Before? Why Not?
