So in the last couple of weeks we've had rumours about Ratchford coming to Wigan and now Bridge.
Surely we can do better than those two?

The Bridge story about being tentatively linked with Wigan is in the M.E.N today along with the story that Wire have pipped Wigan in signing Tom Lineham from Hull next season. The most interesting snippet in the article are reports from the Sydney Media that Dan Sarginson is attracting interest from the N.R.L, I thought that Sarginson was off to Bath after one more season or was that just another rumour that after a few posts on here became fact?.

Better then Bridge maybe but we'll go well to get better quality players then Ratchford in for the type of money we offer (Sam Tomkins the a special as we all know).

I doubt either will happen mind.

Wigan will have an extra £100k to spend on the cap next season should they want to spend it. League Weekly mentioned a lesser publicised adaptation to the regulations whereby homegrown players who make X amount of first team appearances (can't remember how many) will have £5,000 of their salary excluded from the cap total. This applies for a maximum of 20 players so £100k. Wigan I would imagine have 20, not sure if any other clubs will.

Is that another of those Warrington versions of events? "Not only have we made a good signing," (which I believe they have), "but we also beat Wigan to his signature" (which I seriously doubt).

Why would Wigan be trying to sign a winger when they have Manfredi and Charnley lined up to replace Burgess next season?

Ratchford is an exceptional player, just not sure where he would fit in out first choice 17 next season though......

I think he could play anywhere from 1-7 and a passable 13. In the modern game it is rare that everyone in your first choice is fit so he'd get a game every week. At the moment he'd be playing centre. I'd have him in a heartbeat.

There we agree. I'd play him at centre without hesitation.

I'd be surprised if he goes to be honest with him having a young kid. The interest from the NRL is certainly gathering pace though. Love Rugby League posted an article saying that St George, Melbourne and Roosters are all interested.
