Not really. In a high performance environment it is often better for the coach to be left alone to coach and have somebody else worrying about doctors, physios, conditioners, salaries, contracts etc.

It would appear that Smith will manage and Lowes will coach.

Hmm. An odd one. Lowes has been demoted. Smith is in charge, regardless of title. Expect to see him leave Wire sometime in the next 2 months.

Don't see him going back to international RL tbh. More chance of him going back to Bradford if he leaves Wigan.

Its plausible, he's always said he would love to coach England/GB again, and had the RFL not said they wanted a full-time coach IMO he would of carried on as the national team coach.
