He would in my opinion have been nearly the perfect stop gap signing to transition from Green to our future 6.

His injury record lead to me saying we were right to leave well alone when he signed for HKR. I'm surprised he's played 7 games to be fair but hopefully his problems are behind him because he's doing well for HKR.

Agree about his injury record; I've said that before.

Kelly is a talent though. Could we not have taken an interest there?

Rightly or wrongly he's probably not suited to our gameplan with his off the cuff style.

Looks a little Dennis Moran like to me and probably not right for our system at the minute.

SL is significantly less tough than the NRL. His injury record is not good but again if he did pick up a knock it would give us an opportunity to introduce the successor slowly.

I don't buy that tbh (no offence). Tell Travis Burns this league isn't tough or any opposition we come up against each week.

The NRL is intense and the concentration and level of basic skill is extremely high but significantly tougher? Not sure.

The NRL lurker has recently commented on movements within NRL clubs. Supposedly Sharks are looking to offload a few of their stars i.e. Luke Lewis who would no doubt be a star over here.

More notably James Maloney (Roosters 6) is also on the way out, again supposedly Roosters really rate a young up and coming 6 they'd like to see play outside Pearce.

A very much a touch of wishful thinking, and if he leaves he'll more than likely find a slot in another NRL team, but this is the kind of player we such at least strive for.

he'd make the world of difference to our team, even if it's for only a season or 2.

I would love to have James Maloney! Liked him a lot when he was at the Warriors, and has been been very good in tandem with Pearce at the Roosters.

In fact I was coincidentally musing on just that, watching him last night.

80% goal-kicker, too.

Luke Lewis has been injured for about three years, hasn't he? Plus I'll bet he's on a big fat salary.

Always rated LL, fantastic player who's so versatile. From what I remember he was a winger, then 6/7 before playing in the back row. However you're right, he's suffered his fair share of injuries, think the last was playing for Aus?

Either which way, if players like Campo and Cuthbertson can impress over here I'm sure LL still can.

Lewis is too injury prone. He's spent too long as a back playing in the forwards. It has definitely taken its toll.

Maloney would be spot on, but he'd get snapped up by another NRL club in heartbeat. There must be some half backs under the radar who could be enticed to play over here. There's a few players who have come over and then gone straight back into NRL first grade. If HKR can pick them up, why can't we?
