IF true it shows how ridiculous out recruitment policy is.

I and others were calling for us to go for a stop gap half signing to replace Green on a 1 or 2 year deal. Both Campese and Burns were mentioned but we plump for youth. Now 6 games into the season we are chucking players and cash at Hull KR in an attempt to sign him?!

Seriously you couldn't make it up.

It probably was!

We can put the link there that HKR have rushed in to re-sign him as Wigan were sniffing but the truth is he's been playing out of his skin. Why wouldn't they rush to get him signed up? He's the heartbeat of that side and if Wigan didn't come knocking somebody else would.

HKR have announced the signing of Dale Tilse this morning. 6'6"" tall and over 17 stone prop forward. He's not a world beater, but (if Adam Cuthbertson has shown us anything) he'll do ok over here. If only we'd needed a player like that.

He has an Anthony Gelling style chequered past.

They do seem to have a good system in place to find decent players willing to try the UK

Said the same thing a few weeks ago and received a few strange responses back.

It has to be said that the quality of players they've managed to bring over from the NRL (supposedly no one even half decent is available) certainly puts 'larger'clubs to shame.

Strange that we would offer two players + a fee for Campese after only 7 games of the year. Why didn't we just get him in the off season that's just gone.

Lazy recruitment and planning from Wigan imo.

I could name two or three regular posters on the other website who'd be quite happy to start such a rumour in order to create exactly the effect it has caused on here.

Sick of them repeating stuff over and over and other posters then take it as some kind of fact!
Can't believe they fall for it.
Yet someone else posts something contrary to their views and their posts are pulled apart as "StrawMen" arguments etc.! yet they're allowed to do the same thing and get away with it!

Correct yet people are willing to stick the boot in to the club on rumour alone.

I have questioned our recruitment and believe it needs to be completed swiftly and effectively for next year with a bit more experience added but I can't criticise the club for 'going for a player after 7 games that they had no interest in during the off season' when I don't know that's the case.

I agree it would be daft to sign him at this stage of the year. My issue is why when he was willing to sign a 1 year deal with Hull KR weren't we in for him during the offseason.

He would in my opinion have been nearly the perfect stop gap signing to transition from Green to our future 6.
