Ellis absolutely immense, MoM for me from a Wigan point of view also massive shout out to Field showing once again he's peerless when it comes to one on one classic fb defence
What a night, the stadium at its best. Proper tough set-for-set Rugby League and only gutted Bevan didn’t have his moment for the ages. Was there in 91 to see us beat them as a little lad and made up we’ve gone and done it again. There will be detractors about all sorts but the effort and the collisions both sets of players put in made it a special night.
Do I care a jot whats currently being said on the various platforms tonight? Not one bit, Penrith had 90% of the territory in that second half and we handled them. We go up the field twice, one where and get a fortunate call for a try and another where were a bugs d**k off from scoring the best try of the match and putting the game to bed with ten minutes to go.
There will be whinging and moaning as per usual, but let them get on with it.
Kind words from fans of other clubs appreciated, I'm sure. The way I'm going to look at it is, Penrith had the lion's share of possession and field position, but against Wigan's defence, they could only score 12 points. And 12 points doesn't win you many games. Well, not against a side with an half-decent attack, anyway!
I will say that I seen all the challenges since Manly + I don't go to games now but my two lads do,home + away + to see their joy at seeing their team win things makes me so happy. Been through a very tough time personally + watching this team the last couple of years for those two has given them a focus + really helped our family along the way. We said goodbye to their mum on Thursday this week after a 3 year battle with the harshest disease. To see them come home after every game buzzing + having something else to take their minds off things will never go unnoticed. The players visited their mum In the hospice before Xmas + it was very special. To see my boys enjoy the glory days that I've seen previously fills me with great joy + pride for my club. A tear was shed tonight
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.
Loved that as a HKR supporter, and obvious hater of anything west of the Pennines.Completely won over by Wigan tonight. Thank you. Thoroughly deserved, was shouting for you from about Thursday but definitely after about three minutes. Not seen him mentioned so far, but Liam Farrell was my MOM, how many tackles was he involved in?
