On Hampshire he's the most exciting prospect I think we have had since John Burke in the 70's.
Burke left due to lack of game time and ended up at Workington who at the time we're going through a renaissance. He unfortunately had a very serious injury which led to his retirement.
I'm very much in give youth its chance camp and would embrace a half back partnership of 2 20 year olds but fully expecting that the wheels may fall off occasionally. If we go down lets go down with a rasp rather than a whimper.
I'm a big fan of SW so I hope that he will give Hampshire a spell in the first team very soon. If he gets this one wrong it could be far worse than losing Tomkins particularly if Hampshire ends up at Leeds and becomes a big success.

Must have been a few years ago if Bowen was playing Origin!

I was a big fan in the NRL but he's never looked as good for us as he did even in his last days for the Cowboys. Overall just not a good buy, although at the time (along with plenty, I suspect) it seemed like a good short-term idea after Sam left.

Bowens been fine in games that don't mean a great deal but put him in to any game of real significance and the wheels seem to come off. That's strange considering his experience!

Overall he's certainly not been a disaster and at times he's been very good but I think he'll be remembered for those big games unless he turns it round this year.

I'd hope we are monitoring the Locke situation.

He's an excellent player that if available would improve our side.

I think he would be available, the good Dr has been touting him about for the last couple of weeks and he openly stated that he had his blessing if he wanted to go to the Scottish Ru.
In last nights M.E.N the good Dr almost seemed disappointed that Locke had decided to stay at Salford, he went on to say that Salford had high expectations of Niall Evalds for the fullback position and Locke would have to fight for his place.
The downside with Locke is he seems to have this chronic groin problem which has meant that he has hardly figured for Salford since he signed for them.

Would love Rob Burrow to come in for a year or two if he's out of favour at Leeds.

I think he will be remembered for being way past his best when he joined Wigan to be honest.

I have enjoyed watching Bowen at Wigan but in the really fast games you can see that his body is no longer as quick as it used to be.

Matty Bowen from 5 years ago is the one I will remember.

Joe Burgess was apparently named in the 19 man Workington Town squad to play London Broncos today but was withdrawn last night by Wigan.

After Friday's display and result it sounds like Burgess will be back in the 17 for the visit of Hull FC.
