Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery.......

I will look to the moment, and miraculously, the future will take care of itself.

Radio 5 Live, Sat, April 14th, 2007,...Dave Whelan, "In Wigan, rugby will always be king"

'I was certain, positive, convinced, and yet..........unsure'

'It's only rock 'n' roll, but I like it'

Worry will not prevent destiny from unfolding.

He played at fullback and had a safe game.

After seeing Mathers playing at fullback you appreciate positioning and ability to sweep up behind the backline and I think Roberts does this very well.

One of my only criticisms of Roberts is that when he returns/scoots, he doesn't look beyond the defender and will run at the player instead of looking to exploit a gap.

Richards tends to do the same when playing at full back.

Barrow's 70 yard first try started with a forward pass right in front of me...it was at an angle of about 30 degrees and should have been spotted but I have no complaints about the ref. He had a decent game. Wigan did forward passes as well that he missed.
I suppose he didn't have a decent game in that case. I suppose what I mean is that he didn't seem to favour one side.

Can't comment on the alleged forward pass but by heck that James Nixon can shift - Absolutely skinned S Tomkins

That alleged forward pass was nowhere near as obvious as Karl Pryce playing basketball when he attempted to put the ball down late on - Now that was a bad decision !

Whatever happened to Billy McGinty's pineapple?

Ainscough : Tue Apr 07, 2009 7:46 pm
Dont know if this has been mentioned elsewhere as I have only just got back from sunny Cumbria but the only positives for me were the performances of Carmont and Ainscough.

The try Ainscough scored in the first half in the corner when he jinked past 2 Barrow players in the corner was absolutely superb.

Hope the young lad scores a few on Thursday!!

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

Does anyone remember what was mentioned before the match about the Barrow Chairman, I thought that the number 22 was brought out and introduced as the barrow chairman. Once I read the programme I realised that this wasn't the case, but am baffled as to what the announcer actually said.

Yes I wondered what the hell was going on as well.

The PA system was befitting of the Knowsley Road stadium.
