Guessing Taylor and Dudson will definitely be off but that still leaves Mossop, Patrick, Flower, Crosby, Clubb, Tautai and Pettybourne, plus the youngsters who need more first team game time. Surely something has to give, Eddy is the weak link in that list IMO.

Can you elaborate a bit more on the subject of Eddy being the "weak link"?

Surprised by that one.

I saw that resigned comment in an earlier post and just thought it was a miss spell, makes you wonder ,
Has he re signed, then after a change of mind resigned, twists an turns.

Not convinced on the Mossop signing if true.

We did well to offload him last year. Always on the injury list and when on the field he had very limited impact. He was awful against Australia in the World Cup, subsequently dropped and didn't play again. Then played about 2 or 3 times for the Eels and looked out of his depth.

Could we sign someone better? Probably not. Would I rather us give more game time to Sutton and Greenwood? Absolutely.

I don't think he offered much last season tbh. He was meant to be an impact forward off the bench but he provides very little. I think Tautai will be a much better option for that sort of role. Eddy had one or two decent performances but overall was pretty underwheliming. If 4 or 5 of the other props are fit I can't see where he fits in the 17.

Agreed, Pettybourne was the most underwhelming player this season for me. I can see him being dropped for quite a few games if everyone is fit and he doesn't pick things up. Having said that NRL signings do tend to fare better in their second seasons so I'm holding hope yet.

Pettybourne needs to concentrate on playing good, simple rugby league rather then trying to bash people and trample over people.

I can't blame a lad for trying too hard but he needs to settle and get through his carries and tackle properly.

Totally disagree about his spell in oz. The eels struggled in the forwards from the start of the season and when he started playing the Eels started winning games and had a strong pack. As soon as he was injured the Eels fell away from the competition, he was outstanding in his last couple of games, the commentators couldn't get enough of him. But I also agree with your point about his injuries, this sport is punishing is he really up for more of it?

I can see the Mossop signing going one of two ways, either his shoulders hold up and he'll be an asset to us or they won't and he'll retire. I can imagine that Wigan have had his shoulders fully assessed and there will probably be some sort of provision in his contract covering another shoulder injury. From Mossop's POV he must know that if he sustains another shoulder injury then it's probably game over.

We've put together what looks like a very good pack but i'm worried that these signings, whilst being good players, aren't really what we need. I think everyone can see that there's a hole at 6 that needs filling. Hopefully our lack of movement is because we are looking to bring Sam back in 2016.

We have Williams / Hampshire / Powell for 6.
