The spine of Cleary, Edwards and Yeo gets plaudits but stopping Fisher Harris, Leota and Martin in the first 20 will be key. Martin is the best back rower in the world IMO.
Their bench is lacking a big of punch with the departure of Leniu

The team is also lacking Crichton and Luai from last year.

Trying your very best there to try and downgrade the Penrith team to give you some sort of moral score from your victory last year in a match they openly say they weren't taking seriously. Pretty sure they are playing their full strength side are they not? They didn't do that last year. If you win the league you might be able to play them again next year. That won't be happening though will it. You are years off winning another title due to short sighted decisions of your playing squad that has set you back bout 5 seasons. Yesterdays news. Hull KR are closer to a title than St Helens.
PS - Don't mention that we are missing Thompson, Nsemba, Walters and Havard, but don't worry. We will be sure to let you know if we win that we beat Penrith's first team with our second choice front rowers.

Wow. Just pointing out that they are missing a couple of others that NSW omitted when he mentioned Leniu.
They were at full-strength last year by the way with the exception of injured players, the same as this year. Of course we were told by Wigan fans that Edwards was "rested" so by the same score Luai must be too.......
Not sure we have too many short sighted decisions when we have promoted a lot of our Academy lads to the first team environment. As Wigan do, we continue to produce very good players and that's not going to stop any time soon.
I'll have you a charity bet that HKR will not win a title before we do again.

Come on Stu, we both know this Penrith team would wipe the floor against both of our teams 7 times out of 10 (preseason) and 9 times out of 10 (midseason). You can't surely be downplaying them as others such as Mav on twitter is doing for the windup? Unless you are Mav of course

Stu I’ve been dreading you being up Luai and Edwards very similar as you say.
Just brought up Leniu from a pack perspective.
The way Penrith keep losing players (Burton, Kapewell, Kikau, Korisua etc) but keep the machine rolling is incredible.

That was more to point out that they played against us last year when apparently they played the Reserves....
I've turned down a freebie and I'm going to Huddersfield instead but will hopefully avoid the score and watch when I get in. Should be a good game.
Literally nobody has every said Penrith played their reserves last year. It was a great win Stu but you seem to want to keep going over old ground about Wigan fans saying Penrith maybe didn't treat the game as seriously as they could have. Even when people admit their preparation for this year seems much the same, it's not helping you get over the fact that people may think that about last year. If you don't believe it, then that is absolutely fine but I'm not sure what you want. If it is every single person to admit Penrith were 100% on their game and treated it as they would an NRL GF, you'll be waiting a long time.
