Powell's tough and aggressive in defence so I have no worries on that score. He just needs a bit more confidence with ball in hand and he'll do a fine job for us.

We'll be fine especially considering we've got two fabulous back up options like Williams and Hampshire.

I personally would have Williams as the 1st choice to begin with - I think he surpasses Powell in terms of raw talent.

Hampshire I'm sure will already have been told he will be 1st choice fullback in 2016.

Rocky will be used at 1 and 6 next year as I understand it.

Glad we didn't go for Burns. He will have just turned 31 when he starts next season.
We have four lads who can play 6, Powell, Sarginson, Williams and Hampshire.
Our lads will be around when Burns is long gone!
Burns is a good player but it's Saints pack that seems their weak link. It's ok having good halves but no good if the pack can't hold its own against top sides or in big games. They have three experienced men leaving and one coming in. They haven't had a SL standard 4 since Talau left years ago.
We were told Leeds had the best back line in SL prior to the season's start. Yet come season's end they are low on the points scored list.
A good buy for Saints but they have other priorities too, let's see how they get on.

You don't think it's the fact we've had no halves or only one halfback for about 5 years is the problem ?

Do you not think that pack might be overworked in the fact all we do is drive drive drive one up rugby as we have no halves ?

I'm not saying our pack is great but I know 100% the no halves for many years is the factor for us not being in any finals and wining nothing.

It is certainly a contributing factor. FWIW I think you are looking strong for next year. You look to have a lot more balance in the squad than the last few years, having two recognised halves for the first time in a while will help.

Not that this year should be written off yet. I have a rather annoying feeling that this year may be yours.

Good move. I'd actually have him as first choice 6 then play him at 1 in some of the easier games or if Bowen picks up a knock. He's simply too good not to get regular game time next season IMO

Hope you're right but can't see past Wigan given Leeds are out and Wire have a lot of knocks.

I doubt we'll get to OT, but even if we did our l;ack of halves would be cruelly exposed on a big pitch against a smart team like Wigan.

with the contract he would be on at the moment i would accept it he was awesome when not injured last season.
