Re: Blake green HKR Stand off : Wed Aug 15, 2012 1:54 pm
Says in the Sun newspaper.

Warriors to go Green

Wigan have targeted 25 year old Hull KR half back Blake Green.

The warriors considered moving for Castleford Rangi Chase and St George Illawarras James Soward.

But Green who has two years left on his deal, is top of the wanted list.

I haven't seen enough of Blake Green to even comment on whether or not he'd be good for us. It's for that reason I am slightly sceptical. That highlights video shows him in a very good light, but come on, I bet we could knock up a Denis Moran highlight reel and make him look like Johnathan Thurston.

Blake would be a good signing for me + he's got room to improve which is also a bonus.

My main worry next season tho is at Prop.

We are in a desperate need for a rough & tough prop who you can rely on time and time again. We need the type of player that Peacock was a few seasons back where he'd just impose himself on the game. A real tough competitor who was aggressive but in a useful and purposeful way.

Sadly that level of prop is few and far between and i very much doubt we'd find one.

Mossop could be that guy in the long run but he just doesn't seem to be A-fit for long enough or B-Willing to impose his size and talent on a game.

If Wane, Radlinski and Lenagan want him then that's all we need to know. They haven't done too badly so far have they?

People moaned about Lauaki= He's been very good

They moaned about Dudson and Flower= They both look real prospects

They moaned about Matty Smith= he's been exceptional to date.

Times have gone where you could go out and replace NRL stars with more NRL stars. The clubs who'll stay at the top in this league are those who develop their own and are wise enough with the cap to build a strong 'squad' whilst keeping their top players happy.

No he hasn't. He's been average at best.

I agree re Dudson, Flower and Smith (with the exception of the Wire game)

Unfair I feel.

I'd certainly say he's been 'very good' in comparison to expectations which to be fair were very low. I think he's done really well though. He's solid but not spectacular, his error count is low and he's not having too many brainfarts like he did at Hull.

It doesn't say much but I thought he was our best prop on Saturday by a street. He was certainly the only one who looked willing to at least try and match it with the Wire pack.

He seemed the only prop up for it but i'd put Hock down as our only forward that seemed totally up for it.

Maybe a bit too much at times but still at least he had a go.

Hock missed a lot of tackles as Leuaki started to get really in the grove they subbed him...madness.

He only missed one more tackle than Lauaki and both players missed tackles that lead indirectly to tries.

They both showed aggression with the ball in hand and looked like they were up for it but weren't at their best defensively, but then it's obviously much harder to defend well when everyone else around you is defending badly too!

Hock generally does miss one or two tackles per game though, it was more uncharacteristic of Lauaki to be missing tackles.
