Given the Thornley news I really hope we are now dipping into the market for a centre. Without doubt for me we cannot go with an inexperienced 6 and rely on Sarginsson or Gildart. Centre and Prop are our weakest position.

I'd be going all out for Ben Crooks now. We can't afford to go in to next season with just Gelling and Sarginson.

Good centres are in really short supply at the moment unfortunately. I'd be inclined to see how Charnley and Bateman go as centres in training, maybe give Charnley a game there next week v Warrington with Manfredi and Burgess on the wings. Still think we need a better reserve back rower than Hughes

Bateman absolutely has potential to be a good 3/4

Do not see the fascination with moving Josh to the Centre's. He is an out and out winger and one of the best in the UK. Keep him there and give him a good Centre partner, then watch him bang in 30 try a year for the next decade

Agreed on both counts. Bateman tore Saints a new one on Good Friday and, imo, Gelling is showing enough to be a starting centre next year

It is hard for you to believe but Taylor never wanted to play for Wigan, he always wanted to leave Hull KR for FC when his contract with KR was up. However Rovers were determined to cash in for him and sold him to Wigan before him contract was up.

I am sure Wigan would have not paid such a high transfer fee for him had they known he would want out after his initial contract ended.

He lacks professional ambition.
