We've just signed a senior back rower in Joel.
Wigan's squad is massive now.
So is the injury list that's why everyone is getting a game.
I reckon Crooks would be worth signing.

SR Farrell
LF O'Loughlin

S J.Tomkins

That's a great back row when everyone is fit I agree, but I think it's fair to say that even if he doesn't pick up any big injuries, Lockers will still miss about 10 games. Add to that Wane has said he wants to try to rest Bateman more and has already played him in far more games than he wants him to. Plus there will of course be injuries. All that means IMO there's a regular spot there for the next best back rower (whether that's Hughes, Burke or a signing) with the chance to step up in 2016/17 or so when Lockers retires. As such I'd bring someone in and let Hughes go at the end of his contract. Burke I'm unconvinced by so far but he deserves more of a chance yet, ideally on loan

If (big if) Tomkins gets back to his pre RU days I would be surprised if both Farrell and Bateman keep him out of the starting line up.

For the 2nd row I was thinking Farrell, Bateman, Joel, Hughes, Burke then maybe Connor Farrell. I'd forgotten about Hopkins though Waney said he'd play him soon.
After the Hull match Waney said when he came on he'd tried Bateman at loose to see how he'd go. He was pleased with what he saw.
Perhaps when Lockers doesn't play it will be Bateman at 13.
I still don't think we need anymore signings for the back row.

Ah, good taste!
What a dreadful thing!

has Hopkins been playing prop or back row ? notice that he's been a bench player for most of the Leigh season.
