Can Brough hack it a big club? That for me is the million dollar question, there's no doubting he's a superb player but does he have the ability to cope when the pressures on?

He's the main play maker at Wakey and therefore all eye's are focused on him, is he the kind that can share responsibility's with his team mates?

He's a much better player then Orr imo and he'd do well at a big club.

He's got the allround skills and attitude to thrive at a big club and cope with the added pressure. He isn't a Moran or an Orr imo. THey were both good support players and played off the cuff rugby. This lad can do everything imo. He can control a game with his kicking and passing but he can also come up with pieces of individual magic.

We've also got to be remember this Wigan club is an easier one to come into then the one that Moran and Orr stummbled into. We had a poor side in those days but still had the huge expectations.

I'm confident Brough would be magic for Wigan.

Brough is one of the best scrum halves around. I was baffled that Tony Smith did not pick him in the four nations.
He would be a good addition next season to work with Sam to play a similar role to what Deacon is playing now.

Shenton - no thanks, he is a good player and I like him but we would have to offer him a good wage to leave Cas. I would rather see Thornley come through the ranks along with a few others.

LMS - Again not sure we need him. For 2011 we have the pick of Feka, Fielden and Coley. Half way through the season we get Hock back and as well as this we have Prescott, Davies and O'Carroll. Mossop will be a prop in the future as well but it may be a couple of seasons before this happens.

Widdop - Looks a class act. If it was part of a deal for him two spend two years here then go back to Melbourne I am not sure it is worth us doing this at the expense of Phelps? Phelps IMO could potentially finish his career at Wigan so to bring a young "superstar" in for a couple of seasons could be foolish.

Mcarthy Scarsbrook would be another fine signing imo.

He is a proper competitor and again is another player that can and will improve in the future.

It's hard to say which area's need strengthening just yet but the chances are we could be looking for a centre, a prop and a halfback. If Ian Lenagan and Michael Maguire are stood at the DW stadium come next pre season time with Shenton,Brough and Mcarthy-Scarsbrook at the side of them i'll be pleased as punch. Even more so if they've got them all for free which is a chance I believe as they're all off contract at the end of 2010.

He'd like to come back to England later in his career so it doesn't look like being an option for a good while(possibly on loan).

The thing I take out of that article is him saying he's not sure who he'd represent given the opportunity between England and Australia.........is he kidding us!!! He was born in England to English parents and lived over here until 3 or 4 years ago. Why the hell would he want to play for anybody else bar England?

There is that but it's sill abit sad.

I always admired Adrian Morley when he was down under for keep turning approaches down to gain Australian citizenship so he could play State of Origin and then possibly for Australia. He had enough pride in his own nationality to fly the flag for England whilst he was over there and always make himself available for selection for the national side.

I'd have expected Widdop's answear when asked about who he wanted to represent to be 'England' simply because he is English. It's not as though he's been over there that long either.
