It was probably more PR speak to let the public know that Wigan can attract these players back.

This does seem to make more sense ie down the line we may well see Mossop and Sam return, the latter I doubt will be for some time. Mossop I can see coming back in 3 or 4 years.

Unfortunately for Brown, he's tainted by his first spell at Wigan were he was made to be the scapegoat at a very young age. I really wouldn't blame him if he didn't want to return. I don't think it was his happiest time as an RL player. I do think he's matured into a decent player now though.

Brown was at the wrong club at the wrong time sadly. He was as talented a youngster as any of our current crop but he had to do too much too soon and the pressure became too much. If he'd have been at the club as a youngster from 2010 onwards we'd be looking at a full international now.

As for bringing him back I wouldn't be against it but in truth I think we need to trust the youngsters we have now.

Maybe 2 years ago when we were replacing Finch, but I don't think bringing a 30 year old stand off back to the club is the right way to go, or we're just going to be back in the same situation in 2 years time. I'm happy to see the Powell/Smith partnership to continue, if Powell is going to have a career at Wigan then this is his opportunity to prove it.
