don't think there was a deal of first refusal if he came back, he was only contracted until 2015 before he went to Union

A player of Hoffmans caliber was always a bit of a pipe dream really although you do never know with the salary cap.

Joel Tomkins on the other hand shouldn't be if he is coming back to league. We certainly need a big, powerful backrower.

It could take Joel at least a season to get back up to the pace of League.

If he's coming back I presume it's at the end of the Union season so he'd have a good portion of this year to get back up and running.

If Joel Tomkins came back IMO he'd be the best SR in the league within 6 months.

He was never the best Second Row at Wigan in his first stint, nevermind after a stint in Union.
