Tis my view that most of the people who attend the game just not see the group as in anyway intimidating. "Tools" is of course too strong a word, but the people who regularly post the negatives can hardly be taken as representatives of Wigan fans as a whole, or indeed posters on this site as a whole.
Apart from the odd sensitive soul I doubt anyone actually finds them intimidating.
Most people who are saying "negative" things have actually qualified it and said they like what the group are doing and how they are improving the atmosphere at games. However for the most part the "negative" things being pointed out are due to the actions of individuals associating with the group and causing criminal damage or other forms of vandalism using Brigantes "branding". I doubt most people in the Brigantes want any part of that either so I don't know why it is causing so much consternation for some that something that actually happened is being discussed?
For me what is actually making things worse is the attitude of some posters who seem to be the unofficial/official spokesmen of the Brigantes with their childish name calling and extremely defensive attitude to any kind of opinion that is not happy with the vandalism, or who point something out. Their attitude has done the group a bigger disservice than a couple of S2s left about.
