Wigan have given Harris permission to speak to Salford according to Sky Sports.

Not sure what to make of it to be honest. Do we let him go and get a fee for him? It'll surely be a very small amount. Or do we keep him until the end of the season and let his contract run out allowing him to move for nothing for the sake of keeping everything stable?

Who would step up? Deacon? or do we get an outsider involved?

What makes you think it would be a small amount?

The Doc is clearly hungry for success at Salford and I get the impression he wants results sooner rather than later. Harris would be a very useful addition to Salford given his experience with Wigan and it will be interesting to see what happens with Noble if Salford fall below expectations.

The price for coaches generally isn't as much as players and Harris is only an assistant whose contract us up in 7 months.

One name who stands out to take the job as an assistant coach (or better still a title of backs coach) at Wigan would be Adrian Lam.
At present he is the coach of Papua NG, which must only be on a part time basis unless he has ties to an NRL club.
I have just Googled his name and a page came up showing him leaving the field after his last game for Wigan and you could see the tears in his eyes, if offered the chance I think he would jump at it.
The problem is would he be much of an high profile name for Wane.

He's no longer in charge of PNG. Mal Menninga is.

At the recent World Cup Lamb was coach and Menninga was High Performance Director, if it is like you say and Lamb is no longer involvd with PNG it would be easier to aproach him.
