you can't say no to game breaker like james roberts no matter who is the wings, he is better than any one we have currently.

Say it all you want, he isn't coming to SL, the money over there now is on another level, a lower team gig will still see him on more money.
People only seem to come over here now for 'the experience' it certainly isn't money.

if you offered him 150k a year there is no way any team in the NRL is going to offer that unless its the bulldogs but even there cap is sparse. He isn't going to get any endorsements at all so he will be relying on salary from the club and nobody will be willing to take the chance he went to panthers cap in hand.

my memory is hazy, did Piggy and Deacon overlap? Fielden's decent season was when he and Dobb saved us from relegation, was crocked pretty much after that.

They did one season which was Madge's 1st year. Fielden wasn't near to his level at Bradford but he was still decent and an experienced head.

Looked at the 2012 squad on Bilko's site and of the first 20 players listed 15 have now left the club, in two years. That's just massive!
In that number was Amos Roberts and Fielden who I don't think played that year but losing that number came as a bit of a surprise although not a shock.

If we make a signing we need an experienced player no matter what position, we need someone who has played over 150 or so first team games. Whether thats prop, back row, centre or anywhere else we now need experience.
We have so many talented younger players that they need an experienced man around them to talk, ask and listen to.

To me it's getting to the point we can't afford to promote any more younger players as they won't have the game awareness to get them through big matches.
It has been treated as a given that Blake Green will leave end of 2014. Also it seems a given on here he should be replaced by Powell or Hampshire.
It's coming to the stage for me that we should go for a 27 or 28 + year old either from the NRL or SL. We need an experienced spine.
Should Green leave as well as Bowen to be replaced by Powell and Hampshire respectively we'd only have Goulding and Smith over 26 in the backs and halves. We have so much talent but it has to be trained and nurtured.
I know many won't agree with me but I feel 1 more senior departure replaced by an U19s player could prove the tipping point between being towards the top and ending up mid table.

The talent drain can't keep happening, it simply can't. That isn't to have a go at what we've achieved, that has been immense but it doesn't take a genius to work out it won't continue when we see so much talent leave year whilst other clubs like Leeds, Huddersfield and now Saints look pretty settled.

We've not gone past the point of no return yet but we can't afford many more to leave now over the next off season or two or else the pressure will crank up on the fantastic youngsters coming in to the side. we'll have a situation on our hands like we had with Luke Robinson and Kev Brown in that they'll have too much responsibility on their hands, at too young an age and won't reach their potential. I look at two youngsters at the moment in Joe Burgess and John Bateman and keep reading they'll be rested to avoid burn out yet we can't afford to leave them out at the moment. It's great the form they're showing but we shouldn't have such a reliance on them at such an early point in their Wigan careers.
