Could a move for him be for his kicking than his ability. Not good enough tbh. But then again how man not good enough players have we signed over the last 3 years who go and become decent players.

If there is any truth in it then SW clearly doesn't feel like we have a good enough goalkicker, because in terms of wingers I'd rather have Charnley, Burgess, Manfredi, Gelling or Thornley over Foster. It would be very disappointing if Burgess lost his place because we'd signed Foster. Though the goalkicking situation does need to improve!

From what i have read it is down to goal kicking but like whats been said Charnley,Burgess andd manfredi are 100x better than him so don't know where he would go

Foster has looked ok at Bradord his link up play coming off his wing and his goal kicking make him worth a look

I'd imagine Foster will be coming because Burgess's try on Sunday has already guaranteed him a starting shirt in the England team for the next RU Cup.

Perhaps we should propose a rule change whereby an NFL style 'special team' can be wheeled out for all kicks at goal. Paul Wellens could really make a position in the Saints squad his own as kicking tee holder

Foster is an interesting one. He was a Wigan fan as a kid, and would jump at the chance to come here. He was an outstanding centre in Saints academy and for England at that level. For some reason I don't think he was ever given a chance in that position at Saints.

However I don't believe he is as good a winger as either Burgess or Manfredi, or as good a centre as either Goulding, Sarginson, Gelling or Thornley, so where would he fit in?

Bowen here for a year. Green off at the end of the season.
Hampshire could be moved to half back with him and Powell playing 6 when the opponents dictate who was best suited. Williams to give Smith a rest by playing in a few fixtures.
Yesterday didn't matter re goal kicking yet the crowd was very unsettled by those misses. Wouldn't surprise me if the club moved for Foster if just to cover the goal kicking which will be so vital in close game.
As Brian said, who knows how much he could improve at Wigan. So many have!

In tight games a goal kicker like Foster could be invaluable but like already pointed out he isn't in the class of any of our current wing options on playing ability alone.

It'll be interesting to seeif anything comes of it.
