He's a limited coach that won't last long term.

That would make Wigan strong favourites then. With Ratchford at FB and Patton with Cronk in the halves, I think we'll do very well without Sam.

i like to keep my opinion open.

i know he has had alot of injury's, but that could just be very bad luck. i know of alot of sportsmen who never have any injury's then two or three quite big ones come along at once.

also, he has only played 7 games for wigan. Amos played 33 last season, and now seems to have found his feet, pat played 25 times in his first season before he started to play well. gleeson had 22 games last season and did play great. some players need to get a run of games, others (like sam T and ainscough) play well as soon as they are called upon. it doesnt mean those that need time to gel are not great players.

if nothing else, give the lad some time under the new management. let him play a few times before making massive judgement calls.

either way we will have found out by the end of the season. he will either get another contract by playing and showing he deserves to be in the first XIII, or he will be off the pay roll, and we will bring someone else in. either way i will trust the choice MM makes.

I suppose the good thing about MM coming in is that everyone will start with a clean slate. By all accounts Pryce has lost a bit of fat and looks quite the part. (Carn't comment personally not seen him this term). So he needs to perform and put it in like all the rest whether it be in Reserve grade, first team or training or he will be shipped out simple as that. His career at Wigan is purely down to him.

Good post, and a key difference in that the highlighted players did not just slot in after having been out long term injured and playing 3 games of professional sport in 2 years, they are lads who've had a pretty much uninterrupted rugby career at the same club with the same team mates for the past few years.

Pryce seems an obvious slot in at 2 if Amos goes to full back.
He looked lively at Wire in the pre season game until he got a tackle wrong.
I still think he should get at least a dozen Wigan first team games before we critisise.
If he does get 12 games he'd score a few trys, he always has done!
The lad has to be given a chance.

I have just heard that it is bailey that is off to salford. big rumour i know only saying what i have been told. in the same conversation was told that pryce has been offered out but no one wants him. probably not true but suppose we will see.

Maybe a months loan for Bailey to get him upto speed would be a good move but I can't see it being much longer. He's an experienced head, part of the leadership team and is needed here imo.

I could see him getting a place in the side pretty soon tbh possibly inplace of Prescott with Mossop moving upto prop. The first 2 games of this season haven't been the best by Prescott imo. He's looked rusty and his ball handling has been very poor.

I'm sure he'll find last years form soon enough though.

given his lack of speed, it shouldnt take him a month

Bailey played in the reserve game against Leigh over the weekend. A couple of games in there should see him right. He'll struggle to get a game at the minute though with the way Tomkins, Hansen and Mossop are playing

And thats the exact way it should be IMHO. I like Bailey I think he really does a great job for us but he will have to force his way in the team - and that will only increase determination from Mossop, Tomkins and Hansen to keep thier place, so performance goes up.
