I'm not to worried although gutted that Lima is off..props are not the hardest position to recruit in..Its Finch we'll really struggle to replace.

It's disappointing news obviously, but with Dudson, Crosby and Spencer's devlopment coming along nicely, plus our established front rowers, there isn't too much to worry about. You never know we may also see Fielden back in cherry and white, and even if we don't that will be more cap space freed up.

Losing Finch is more gutting IMO, as someone has already mentioned, we have been unable to have any sort of stability in the halves for more than a season or so in the last decade really. Though with Finch, Carmont, Leuluai, Lima, Fielden, Roberts all leaving that should leave a substantial amount of money to tie up Lockers and McIlorum and to bring in a quality stand off and scrum half (we will need both IMO, Sam needs to stay at FB)

Gutted if Lima is leaving and im not so sure that he is going to be as easy to replace as some have suggested.

Lima is one of those players who not only is very good player performance wise but he is a player that the opposition are intimidated by and its been a long while since other teams have been scared of our pack (the last time was when we had Pongia and Smith playing together).

Although people will say Bill Sonny's comments are wrong, I have to agree. I know Madge recreated us and to me he is still a god. But he:

a) Left early
b) Is going to take Lima
c) Probably will be back next year (s) for sam

IL needs to tell him no more, unless he sends us Dave Taylor or Greg Inglis!

We knew the risks with signing the likes of Finch, Lima and Hoffman, that in all likelihood they were all still young enough and good enough to be in demand back in Aus. I personally didn't expect Lima to go before his contract was up but that's the name of the game unfortunately, it's always likely to happen with quota players.

One thing is for sure, we need to get a long term brit in the halves next season, whether Finch is here or not. With the dearth of talent knocking about, Gaskell would most definately be the best option, but I can't for the life of me think why he would be available.

Sam back to the halves isn't the answer, at least not long term. He's gone in a couple more years so that's just a short term solution to bring Russell into the team.

To go a little further on this point, we are also unfortunate that we have 2 players in Lima at 30 and Finch at 31 who will be wanting to look for one last big contract, just as the NRL is receiving a salary cap increase. Can't blame them really.

I can't help but wonder if Wane thought Eddy Pettybourne was getting pushed in our direction in an exchange deal for Lima after he admitted an admiration for him a few weeks ago.

Sadly if that is the case he's since signed for Wests and we'll be getting balls all from the deal IMO.

Maguire has to look after his new club but you'd like a bit of respect. In all honesty though he's not that sort of bloke. He had a quiet persona in public but going off reports is a ruthless 'win at any costs' sort of bloke in reality.
