Wigan won't go above the salary cap regardless of exemptions. This rule would have little bearing on how we'd run our club and if anything would work against us.

We pushed the boat out to keep Tomkins but had room to move on the cap and we were talking about a once a generation player. Ian Lenagan doesn't want a cap increase because he doesn't want to spend more then we currently are doing.

This isn't having a go because he can't really be questioned but that's the way it is IMO.

We will be getting more money from the Sky deal, this will allow us to spend more.

Possibly. I think Lenagan will pump the cash in lower down the chain though at junior levels and within the coaching set up and that's probably wise.

Was speaking to someone who knows Scott Taylor very well yesterday, his plan at the moment is to move to the NRL at the end of the year for a couple of years, then move back to the UK (Hull Area) and settle down and start a family. Obviously plans can change, but that's his thinking at the moment.

Guess he will be talking to clubs this week and a good performance tomorrow will help him massively, I would guess Souths might be interested with Burgess going.

I'm always skeptical about stories like this that are 3rd hand, it's not that I don't believe what you've been told but I would much sooner wait for Taylor to say "I'm off to NRL." and get official confirmation that way.

I imagine the likes of Charnley, Taylor, Burgess, Farrell, Sarginson will be being watched closely in this game and as a result a good few either intenionally or not will put themselves firmly in the NRL shop window.

Well this a rumour thread for a start, im not usully one for rumours but my friend is a good friend of Scotts and has been a kind of mentor when he was younger. Im not saying this will happen, but this is scotts plan as it stands. I always thought it was strange he only signed a two year dealand that wigan haven't extended it in the off season.

It would be silly of him to join an hull team because he would generally become a worse player, he still has a lot more potential and he wont have any where better than wigan. in two seasons time when he has achieved that potential and matured he should go to the NRL

Taylor should stay at Wigan until he's a regular international and then go. He would make a lot more money that way and will have great experience under his belt.

From our point of view though if Leeds can keep Hall, Watkins as well as tempting Briscoe to sign then we should be able to keep more player then we are doing.
