Frustrating is the right word. His teammates patting him on the back after his last daft error was more generous than I could be. He needs a rocket up his backside for me. He wastes any good work he does with the most basic, lazy errors you could see. I’d be amazed if he’s here in 2024.

And if so another black mark in the recruitment book for Kris Radlinski unfortunately. Its tough to think of the opportunities we've had to address our front row weaknesses over the last five years - few would say any of Bullock, Burgess, Clark, Mago, Ellis, Singleton etc have been definitive success stories (understatement with a few of them).

| Scrappy game to say the least.
Thought Huddersfield were really poor. Do all the “big game stuff” like take the 2 and turn over ball in good positions but didn’t really throw anything at us.
We just aren’t clicking this year. I was so frustrated Bevan barely got involved in the first 60 minutes so welcomed the move to full back.
After 3 years suffering from it, I was glad we could benefit from Bibby being totally inept under the high ball. Harry Smith kicked well.
Liam Marshall had a fantastic game bar the one error. He took plenty of difficult bombs and his carries were immense.
Win the next 2 then get one win from the Saints/wire double and we’ll be in decent shape.

I think that is a fair comment but this week we found a way to win. Our defence was a lot better. We are still weak in certain positions and that needs to be addressed. We badly need a 6, Cust has no creativity or pace; 9 is an issue but Cust may be our best option. We definitely need a prop and second row, we need to dominate the opposition.

He needs to be dropped and at the end of the season shown the door. He does not contribute enough to the team. There are better British players in SL who are on a fraction of his salary.

No we don’t, we need better players in crucial positions.

| Quote NickyKiss="NickyKiss"It was a tough watch. Maybe our discipline is just dreadful but it felt like we got battered again. The ref gave a tip tackle against us that looked dubious and then didn’t give one against them with 30 second left, that was clearly worse. We grafted hard and finally seemed to up our intensity in the last 20 mins, so hopefully that’s something to build on.
As for Huddersfield, you’d struggle to part with your money to watch that every week. Watson got so much praise for Salfords entertaining brand of rugby under him but that clearly wasn’t down to him. He must be the most risk averse coach in Rugby League. They took a hit up with 5 seconds on the click to seal the game for Wigan, which summed it up.'"
Defence won that game for us and that is a positive.

| It was a tough watch live, and I expect it will be the same on replay, but it's a hard-fought win, though I really thought the story of the night was the Giants' relative toothlessness. I agree Marshall was very good apart from that one error; they seemed to kick to him all night without success.

There didn’t look much to defend against without Fages the Giants look clueless. How French was able to wrestle out of the tackle from lolehai I would never know. He’s a joke

| Agreed. The Lolehai 'tackle' was a shocker.

Weird tactics kicking high towards Bibby. He showed again last night, as he did many times here, that if you want to play him on the wing, you’re going to have to accept that he is so poor under the high ball at both ends of the field.
I find the approach of Huddersfield in general extremely strange. They’ve built a squad of 25+ experienced players but you’re never going to fit them all in and in turn, you’re spreading your cap space extremely thinly. They needed a couple of X factor players in that cup final last year and they need some pace but Watson just seems to want to think ‘safety first’ at every single turn and that’s included building a squad that will cover 10+ injuries. Unfortunately that leaves them short of strike power week to week.

| Better stats from the forwards with the exception of Isa and Byrne going forward.
I really think the lack of go forward from 2 secondrows is hurting us.
Faz, King, Field and Marshy all racking up big numbers as usual.
Wardle improving but would still like to see him work a bit harder carrying.
I’d really like to see us run with French at 1, Field at 6 and Cust at 9 earlier in the game next week before we head into the Easter period.
We look a lot slicker and threatening when we have that formation.
