We’re suffering here from having too many of the young lads in with the “nearly good enough” crew. The wrong type of first team experience to actually get a look at how suited the academy/reserve lads are to first team rugby. Hopefully that try will give us a bit of belief that we look like we’ve needed so far. I’d love for Mago just to take an actual drive in where he’s looking to bust first and foremost rather than constantly looking for the offload. Coming onto the ball at pace would be a start.

The more I see Mago, the more I’m reminded we are missing a dominant front row to get the best out of him, he just isn’t a pack leader or game changer in that regard. Occasional flashes are there to make you think ‘if only.’

The whole spectacle has been that bad I'm struggling to care about the result tonight.

I wonder if that's overthinking it a bit. Anyone can catch the ball, run as fast as he can and pump the legs after contact.
