The banning issue has been a problem on this forum for a few Wire fans. I think it can be just as sensitive on here as well. I agree people being banned for abuse and being intentionally nasty but not just for having a different point of view.
We were in the Counting house after the match at about 5:30 . As i walked back from the bar (hands full of pints) a guy with a Saints polo shirt on stopped me and said Wigan scum are not allowed in here. Just replied "nae luck mate but i will pass the message on to the other 300 Wigan fans in here ".
I posted on another thread, what had happened on Friday stating that it was people from Wigan who had caused the bother. It started in another pub in bridge st before the game had finished, They had ordered a lot of taxis from the stork at billinge, at half time not sure if thats where they were from or had been on a pub crawl. I spoke to one of the taxi drivers who brought some of them, he said it was obvious they were not rugby fans and were looking for trouble, then they went to the sefton, where by this time the game had ended and was then full of both fans, thats when it kicked off. Nothing to do with St Helens being rough or the sefton being rough, all towns have rough parts. As for someone saying his uncle was the manager, load of rubbish, I know the manager very well and can assure you that he is not old enough to have a nephew old enough to go in the sefton. Like I said in another thread not rugby fans, we had a geat day out so stop all the slagging off it doesnt help

Then why did the landlord of the pub (the one with the cut eye) when asked by police was it wigan fans he replied...."No it was nothing to do with Wigan fans".

Nobody has been banned for having a different point of view. People get banned for breaking the AUP and ignoring various warnings about trolling, derailing threads etc.
St Helens town centre is indeed a dump and, much as I would like to think otherwise, it will continue to go downhill in my opinion.
The town is a wasteland.
As for the Sefton, I wouldn't pin that on Saints fans fighting amongst themselves. More drunken buffoons fighting amongst themselves like they do every weekend when they drink more than their pea brains can handle.
A purple patch inspired on his home ground by man of the match WIGAN CAPTAIN Sean O’Loughlin produced three tries in an eight-minute spell just before half-time, and the GB Lions added two more after the break to maintain Smith’s 100 per cent record as Great Britain coach.
Sat 27th April 2002 St Helens 12 Wigan 21 Edinburgh - Sat 4th May 2002 Celtic 2 Rangers 3 Glasgow (Carlsberg dont do weeks, but if they did.....)

aboveusonlypie... If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.
