Well I was at THAT Salford match which halted our march for the Challenge cup, after successive wins.

Stick with almost the same team as last week for mine, except swap O'Carroll and Prescott around and start with Feka, Fielden on the bench.

Salford can't be taken likely, you know what we're like. If it seems straightforward to win then Wigan will try their hardest to make it difficult for themselves! Pessimistic I know, but just going off recent history!

The trouble is that everyone in the country seem to recognise this apart from the Wigan players themselves.

If we turn out with the complacent state of mind that we showed against Wakey, then we will lose. Simple as.

6 games into the season?

no wonder us wigan fans are called fickle, writing players off before theyve settled

You may.

It links in with my thread earlier about Fielden. In the game against Leeds he made just over 20 metres with only 3 carries in the entire game but defensively he was as solid as we have come to expect him.

Gareth Hock meanwhile made 101 metres during the game, just 3 less than Paleaaesina and when you look at his offloading ability as well it seems to make perfect sense to me to have Hock running at the bigger men to punch holes and get a good offload to our dummy runners rather than have Fielden run and make very few yards.

Fielden can then take Hock's place in the second row position and utilise his defensive qualities accordingly.

I don't pretend to know more than Noble or the coaching staff and this isn't an arrogant rant about the poor form of Fielden or the super form of Hock et al. I just think against a side like Salford we could 'afford' perhaps to mix it up a little.

Why should we put up with below par performances because players are expected time to settle.

Can they not settle in the reserves?

Its clearly not there ability that lets them down.

I'd play the same squad to be honest. I don't think we would have done better with any changes, even Coley had a good game. Maybe Karl Pryce might have done well but Bailey got through a lot of work coming inside and sorting out defensive breaches. The problem was that he had too much work to do inside, leaving his centre exposed. Karl Pryce on the other hand is far from a workaholic, and would probably wouldn't have come inside, leaving them free to run riot in the middle. The worst game was had by Hock but it would be silly to drop a player of his calibre off one bad game.
