It links in with my thread earlier about Fielden. In the game against Leeds he made just over 20 metres with only 3 carries in the entire game but defensively he was as solid as we have come to expect him.
Gareth Hock meanwhile made 101 metres during the game, just 3 less than Paleaaesina and when you look at his offloading ability as well it seems to make perfect sense to me to have Hock running at the bigger men to punch holes and get a good offload to our dummy runners rather than have Fielden run and make very few yards.
Fielden can then take Hock's place in the second row position and utilise his defensive qualities accordingly.
I don't pretend to know more than Noble or the coaching staff and this isn't an arrogant rant about the poor form of Fielden or the super form of Hock et al. I just think against a side like Salford we could 'afford' perhaps to mix it up a little.
