Can't believe some people think Riddell was good... proves people only see what they want to see. All he did was a couple of runs, a bit of tackling (his good point) and a number of short flat predictable passes from dummy half. He performed well at Bradford so he's 1/6 so far. Are these the same people who gave undue criticism to Higham AFTER Noble had sold him??? Probably, if Higham had only played half a game and done so little he'd have been criticised every week (funnily enough, he never was until he left!!!)

Yes He was, And I was one of them!

As for anyone mentioning Riddell and leaving out Lulu well they really are talking tosh... watch the game again and compare the two and there is no comparison.... Leeds had two hookers out, we had two hookers in and the play the ball was one of the main areas in which we struggled, what does that tell you?

We haven't got Mickey Higham and I aren't claiming he is the best hooker in the world by any stretch of the imagination...

We need to concentrate on now, we aren't good enough at the play the ball and we've got a lazy Aussie for the next 3 years who takes up a chunk of the salary cap and has demonstrated how good a player he can be but in a hit and miss way. This is exactly what Wigan do not want when consistency has been our biggest problem. If he was serious about working hard he would have been fit when he arrived. I would love to be proved wrong but so far, 6 games into the season and having won only 2, the only evidence is pointing towards Piggy being another Aussie journeyman. I want him to prove me wrong and will admit it if I am. However for now I will stick to the main point of my original post that he was NOT by any stretch of the imagination one of the best players on Friday night.

But you havent Made Your mind up yet have You!

Your second comment just sums it up! He looked a lot fitter Before he picked an injury up in training Pre season, He looks like he is over that Now and I thought he had another decent game on Friday (No Better No Worse than A lot of the Pack) along with the Quins & Bradford Game.
If we had won all 6 would he have been brilliant?
What would he have been if we had lost All of our games??? That's right Mickey Higham!

Lazy players don't chase back and beat the England World Cup winger for the ball.

Who do want at hooker?

It would appear that the majority who posted on here did think he was one of our top three players on Friday.

I watched Piggy in the NRL and know what he is capable of, however I also know what Phelps and Mathers are capable of and you can't live on reputation forever. I have made my mind up, professionals don't use an injury as an excuse to put loads of weight on and not train at all. And your point about the friendlies sums it up also, he looks good against crap teams, just as Bradford were crap last week!!

You've decided from one of my posts that I idolise Mickey Higham and keep labouring the point, using the same rationale you have clearly given Piggy a god-like status and the man can do no wrong in your eyes and you probably picture him skinny dipping in your dreams.

In fact is it you Piggy???

The 1 import who is still amazingly teflon coated as far as stick is concerned is Roberts. He gets shown up every week by a teenaged rooky and no-one gives a stuff!

Total Garbage! How do you know he didn't train at all for No reason??? I am sure someone at the club would have had something to say if he just didnt turn up at all for training for No reason!

Bradford were crap last week, I wasnt one of the ones getting carried away by a couple of wins!

However
I think he will be a good buy over 3 years and I won't get carried away & start criticising individuals
because we lose a game either, thats called over reaction!
