Why would which amateur club a player had come from have any bearing on their SC situation?

I can't believe that new rule hasn't had more coverage.

In theory we could sign Tomkins and compete with NRL and Union clubs in terms of his wage demands.

Great news for us who seem to have more home produced talent than any other club.

It is strange that it hasn't. Its very possible for yourselves, ourselves and Leeds to spend well over £2million with these rules. Effectively if you have homegrown stars you can spend what you like

what about returning home grown players? To me this is just another example of chairmen not knowing the full rule changes, Marwan Koukash not knowing London getting an extra 100k on the cap for example.

But i will be fair well done RFL for finally rewarding clubs for producing players. This will certainly go a long way to showing the real "i want to test me self" excuses if they are willing to receive less money for it.

If the good dr really wants to spend over the cap and pay transfer fees, see how much Warrington would sell Myler and Ratchford back to Salford for?, im sure they came through Salford academy.

I'm sure he must have played for under 16s etc for a pro club. At Wigan town team starts at about 11years old (or used to at least, not sire qhether it still happens)

The above document has been available for all to view since September (or finely dissect in some cases like myself ) if the owners don't know the rules, it's squarely their own fault.

Since where you trained is usually defined before the age of 21, returning players still will hold the same status as they did before they left (assuming they left after the age of 21) - so Sam tomkins would fall under the status as club trained regardless if he returned, same with James graham at saints. Where it gets ... Sticky is if, for example jon Wilkin returned to hull Kr, and an argument ensues about who trained him .
