Because Wheeler is a 6 who can play centre. Gelling and Thornley are centre/wingers.

Read the reports. Supposedly none other than Andy Faz was in his ear when England RL were playing in the WC.
They see him as a centre.

Actually shocked about this, Sam's close family have all moved to Aus where he has settled into his new life, always gave the impression that he loved it.

Now he'll be moving down south to play RU leaving his close family behind. Rumours are he's off to Bath.

The most SL appearances Wheeler has made since he made his first team debut in 2008 is 12. He's made less than 45 in total over 6 seasons. I'd rather have a solid centre who's going to give you 25 games+ a season than someone who's clearly got excellent ability and unfulfilled potential but is going to spend a lot of his time on the treatment table. There's plenty of quality cover in the halves and centre to suggest he's not worth the risk IMO, unless of course the club know they are looking to replace others who are off at the end of this season.

Don't rate Wheeler at all. Too slow. Messed up loads of scoring chances against our under 20s a couple of years ago.

Koukash is asking the rfl to let him go over the salary cap to sign a very very special player in his words.Anybody got a clue who it is?My guess would be Willie Mason.
