Flower and Taylor are good but not great SL props. In his first year in superleague (he was only supposed to do 4 games) Walmesley did more metres than either. That's before you compare them to great props like peacock etc

Seriously? flower and taylor were as good if not better against peacock in the play off game. We have this debate every other year about players who improve dramatically in a season. Taylor has more promise in super league than any other forward including walmsley. Walmsley has a lot to improve on compared to taylor but i will say Walmsley go forward is immense.

I don't see them every week, but they're not as high quality as your back row . They were around the 2000 Mtrs mark each which is pretty average, average tackles made and quite a few tackles missed.
But as I said I don't see them every week, but as an opposition fan I'm much more weary of Farrel and SOL

but are those stats a fair comparison to other players? how many matches did they play in the regular season compared to others? in the play offs defenses are on another level and those two made plenty of meters during the play offs. Also i felt sorry for the Leeds players when flower was tackling it was brutal.

Well in a team of similar quality Peacock did twice as many Mtrs and a lot more tackles. In a much worse team Amor did the more Mtrs, not sure on tackles etc.
Graham (admittedly a freak) in his last three years at saints did 4000, 4600 and 5000 Mtrs
For me a quality prop (if they do the minutes) in a good side should be around the 3k mark for a season, but obviously it's not the only barometer .
I'm not saying they're rubbish, just the weakest part if a very good squad

yes and those teams rely on those players a lot because of the style of play. Everybody knew if you mark Graham and Roby heavily they just wasn't the same team.

Average gains is a better stat but even that doesn't paint a full picture, what if taylor only plays agains the top 8 in a season? he is obviously isn't going to rack up meters.

Flower and Taylor are the starting props at the double champions and are a match for any of the top props in super league.

Again, I'm not saying they're bad players, of course they're not. But in you're very good squad, your props are the (comparatively) weakest link . I doubt any of wire/ Leeds/ hudds/saints would swap their starting props for yours.

so your telling me saints wouldn't take taylor? 9/10 times we play saints are props dominate yours so its silly to say you wouldn't swap or even want Taylor or Flower. Right Now taylor and flower are better than Lafranchise, Amor, LMS and Walmsley.

Leeds would defiantly accept taylor and flower because other than Peacock who else are they not better than?

Lafranchi I would yes, but he's a second row pretending (badly) to be a prop. They're on a par with LMS, when he wants to play he's better, but he's not consistent . Amor and Walmesley are much better

if you truly believe that your insane. its like Northampton Saints part 2. for 1, Amor and Walmesley (sp) aren't even established forwards. And LMS had a good back end of season but in no way was he better than taylor last season.

He didn't say LMS was better than Taylor last season.
