That's a great signing for them. He's been anonymous this year but it's a huge upgrade on Reynolds.

I do worry about Salford and their long term sustainability as a professional rugby league club without finding a backer.

Absolutely. Something doesn’t feel right with how things are at Salford. Why the need to sell Dupree and Croft if that share scheme target was hit? It’s going totally against what was promised.

From a negative POV it also means a big chunk of wages and quality sitting out of games.

Eckersley will be backup i imagine, he is about the age where he should be ready for some first team games especially after spending a fair chunk of this season on loan in the championship.

He is on the training clips the club posted this week a few times and looks physically capable, and when i have seen him in the pre season games he looks good, seems to get good wraps from his loans too.

Excited to see what Eckersley and Douglas can bring, as and when they get a chance. I saw quite a bit of Douglas in pre season and he looks a real talent. Eckersley looks ready for a chance going off his loan spells. I’d like that safety net of Hampshire as a back up as well but moving those 2 up a spot, to cover Thornley and Custs (obviously Hampshire would cover that, which would then move both the young lads closer to a game) exits is fine by me.

So if there is another signing in addition to Thompson which position do we think it will be?
