If Farrell is a realistic option and does want to come it can only be for sentimental reasons based on his fathers history.

I went to primary school with Andy, he lived just round the corner from my Nan. He was Wigan through and through, professionally he has gone elsewhere but there’s no doubt where his heart lies & that will never change.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Owen wanted to give Wigan and RL a go whilst he still has the chance. I doubt money would be a major factor as he is no doubt already set up for life providing he’s not reckless.

Farrell would be a huge gamble and would cost a lot in salary.

I could only see him playing scrum half or stand off, 100% not loose forward as there is no way he could defend in the middle and take the ball up.

Lots of assumptions about the commercial value he would bring but how much and from what avenues?

Assumption that there's no way he could defend in the middle. Why's that?

Gareth Thomas came over much later (think he was 35) & whilst he wasn't the same player he once was, he transitioned well. There's no reason why Faz, who'll will be a good few years younger & with a solid background in the sport can't do the same.

I would have liked to see a Gareth Thomas in his 20s playing league, met him once a huge physique for a back and very quick. For me a top NRL player would be the dream signing but signing Farrell wouldn't be a disappointment. For the first time in years we do have the financial backing to target anyone.

Why are we discussing Farrell, he’s spent his career in RU, I appreciate my knowledge of RU is limited, but watching the World Cup now and desperately hoping some rugby will break out, there’s lots of standing around and then someone kicks, we have 10 minutes for a scrum.

Farrell would be blowing out of his booty 10 mins into todays game at Leeds, or the Leigh saints game last night. It would take a year to get him fit, and I don’t see how he puts bums on seats, not sure if any player does that now. But that’s my view I like Farrell as a player, but he’s way too much of a risk and that wage could be f dad lent better elsewhere

I agree would be much happier if someone like that was on the way. No doubts over his ability or impact on the field and would be great seeing him and Bentley re United
