If you’re expecting Wigan to pay off his contract then Wigan will only be able to use the quota spot if we have cap space left after the pay off.

Read on the other site that George Williams agent is rumoured to have approached Wigan as Georgie boy is not a happy bunny at Warrington
Not sure how true this is but it reads that it’s a fact

Well its Dan so there's nothing in it. Plus he's three months on from signing a three and a half year contract. However hypothetically if he were to become available he would probably appeal to Wigan as there's now a 3rd marquee player option and only £50k of his salary would count on the cap due to homegrown status.

If he hasn’t signed a 3.5yr deal earlier on in the season there might be some legs in it. But with that the price tag would be astronomical and not viable IMO.

Better options for 6 for the money and whilst he may suit playing alongside our backs I’m also keen on non returnees. Don’t forget, he also turned down ridiculous money to come back here from the NRL for more ridiculous money at Warrington. It’s a no from me.

Now Powell is gone I’m sure all will be well at Wire for a while.

Re. George, I'm not sure how Wigan would feel negotiating for a player who always seems to be looking for a better option. Good player when he wants to be, but could we ever really trust him?

It'll be a different Wigan administration of course, so it wouldn't be a case of once bitten.

The Williams thing is a non starter.

1) He signed a new deal 4 months ago to stay there until 2026. He must be happy enough.

2) Given Fitzpatrick weird obsession with getting one over on Wigan there’s a 0% he’d sell their best player to us.

3) if he issue was the coach that’s now resolved

4) he’s burned his bridges at Wigan

5) I don’t think another marquee player in that position is what Wigan want.


It’s not happening.
