He's shown some classy touches when I've seen him play this year. Re his goalkicking I don't know his success rate but suspect its better than Smith's. Always prefer to play outside backs on the side they're most used to as it reduces the risk - some players seem to be able to switch over seamlessly whereas others struggle.
Think its a shame for King if he does end up going back to Warrington. Looks like its inevitable due to the big contract he's on and Warrington's option of assigning him marquee status. But irrespective of whether its a good or bad move for Wigan and Warrington, the switch to Wigan in 2023 has clearly been great for his game. In 2022 he was very poor and some fans were understandably concerned about whether Wigan could get the best out of him. Credit to Peet and the coaching staff - they've managed it and he has a big impact on the game (particularly with his carries out of our own half). Hopefully he won't regress again playing under a coach he didn't work well with the first time round.
It would need to be Very, very good to be better than Smiths kicking record in 2022, something that people seem to be forgetting when he was IIRC the top goalkicker numbers and % wise?
As for King, he's been very good imo for us, on Sunday I was struck how he came back on the drop off ball inside a lot more than usual and it added to his game and our performance.
It was a little bit like our 2nd rowers have done for us last 10 years Hansen/Bateman/Isa
