Well I wouldn't advocate signing anyone jut because we've freed up some money. However were the club to be looking at paying a transfer fee to obtain a certain player for the 2013 season, and now because of Amos's departure can afford that player this season. I'd be all for it. What's nice is it gives us some room to work should an opportunity present it's self at any point.

The transfer fee shouldn't be a problem either as we have the money from Saracens for Joel Tomkins. So now we have transfer fee plus salary cap space available.

Wigan just need to show patience now if indeed they can use Roberts money this season. It puts us in a nice position that if any good players unexpectedly become available we should have the room to compete for their signature.

If not though then like I say show patience and just wait till next year. We could possibly look at getting some long term deals signed with other players sooner then expected as well.

October '08. So not exempt. It was Bailey, Feka + Richards that were exempt at the time wasn't it?
