Not at all convinced by Walters but the level of disappointment expressed by the Leeds fans at losing him gives some hope.

I think he’ll go well here Walters. He has some aggression and attitude about him and I think they’ll smooth off the rough edges. We’re poor at signing ready made forwards but our record of developing them is good.

From what I have seen and what Leeds fans say is he’s got the tools to go to the top, if he can get it together we could be looking at a future international. He just needs to apply himself better and he will likely improve with a bit more weight added to his big frame.

Just seen Thompson has been ruled out for the season. I think we should give him a swerve personally , he’s a great player when fit but he’s been blighted with injuries in Oz, I know the prop market is thin on the ground but maybe we would be better going for a lesser player without as many fitness issues.

That injury he’s got is a nightmare, I can’t see him coming back to regular NRL starts and at best he could struggle through games over here with it. I’d stay well clear, we don’t want another Burgess.

No doubt staying in the NRL is his 1st choice but if he doesn't get an offer and you can only assume that would be because of his recent injury record it should be a massive red flag for the management here especially considering the money he'd be after

If we let Mago, Ellis and Isa leave and bring in a couple of experienced props like Aaron Woods and Liam Knight i would be happy for next season and we would have a quota spot spare, or we could just use that spot for a Bryce Cartwright or Tyrone Peachey for the second row and be done with it

I'd be pretty happy to keep Ellis, unless I could be convinced they we could replace him with someone significantly better.

I’d 100% keep Ellis if we could. Yesterday’s brain fart aside, he’s very consistent and getting better.

I would 100% keep Ellis. I think the Singleton and Mago will leave which imo is good for us as they are our weakest senior props. If we can replace them with better players we will have a strong set of front rowers imo. Hill, Byrne, Havard and even Ellis are quite young for props and should improve in the coming years. Walters may start in the second row for us but I see his long term position as a prop too. If we could get Dupree who is young too we could be set for years with a consistent line up of props.
