Wigan have the option of extending by a year if they want to, so guess it would depend on that.
i think the position on Miski may have changed from a club perspective. he has gone from a bit part player taking up an overseas quota spot, to a regular winger adding good metres and scoring tries in a very short period of time. Our back line seems to be firing pretty well at the minute with French, Miski, King, Wardle, Marshall taking the back 5 spots. Players to return to cover 6, with good competition there now with Field, Cust and Hamshire.
Whilst there is no doubt the club will see more than we do as fans, re Miski, it has often been felt or commented on the forums that as a back up winger it was a waste of a quota spot. if he has cemented his place, fair play to him for taking his chance and if he gets an extension i dont think there would be too many complaints.
what that does do however, is move the spotlight to no6, and having Field / Cust sat on the bench or out of the 17 instead of focus on Miski on the wing. Field is obviously contracted. Cust didnt do a lot wrong without setting the world on fire previously and has clearly been impacted by his current injury. So i suppose our dilema is do we offer Cust an extension (on basis i'm right and he is ooc
)?
