One of the three needs to be brought through the system here, so that would be in line with Thompson being targeted. Presumably Field, French and Thompson would then be the three.

If we are to keep the cap then more scope should be allowed to bring in players who will add value to a club,honestly I’d go for 4 marquee players 2 overseas and 2 home grown,if you don’t want to spend that’s fine but the sport is being held back it seems to me.

5 Marque also have 5 academy players that don't count on the cap till the age of 25, have 3 Marque for homegrown players and 2 for NRL, could also have 2 former union players off cap for 3 seasons, would maybe entice one or two decent players to switch codes, either this or just double the cap and say ballcocks to those Yorkshire clubs holding the game back

Sam Walters at Leeds may be available at the end of the year -always thought he"s a player with potential.

We tried for him first time around iirc. He’s one that stands out from the off contract list for me. He’s raw but there’s plenty of talent there and he can play back row or at prop (although I do think he’ll end up solely as a prop).

Can’t say I have paid much attention to him or he has particularly stood out when I have seen him play but Leeds fans seem up in arms that he’s not a regular in their 17 and that he might potentially leave.
