Looks like Robinson has brought in a replacement for JWH.
Cap space will be an issue and they're quoting the Roosters' boss as saying some players need assisting in kn owing when to fin ish. Be good for SL and Wigan.

That was my take on it too. One year deal with a 2nd year option (he'd be 37), might sweeten the deal.

Seeing how his playing at the min, it's a no brainer for a 12 month deal imo. We'd have to manage him right, but what he'd bring to the table for guys like Byrne, Havard and Hill would be hugely beneficial imo.

The later squad numbers seem to be doing well.

Eckersley got a hatrick for Widnes including 2 90m tries.

Astley and Sutton also got 2 each for Oldham.

If Eckersley keeps this up and we retain Wardle that would be hugely beneficial to our recruitment strategy for the forwards for next season.

I do think we need to try and target a few games this season to give chances out to these young lads. You want to do that in a strong team and not a team of kids like we played at Huddersfield or HKR last season really. Looking at the crop going out on loan and closest to the first team, you’d think Hill and Eckersley would be towards the top of the list, along with Nsemba (who is possibly the closest with him being the one named in a few 21 man squads).

Agreed, I remember Gildart debuting in a strong team and kept his place.

Wakefield at home next week I hope to see at least one of them.

Excellent tries. He looks strong and fast with good evasion. Really needs to be in and around the first team once his loan spell is up. He looked ready last year to me. Even more so this, at least from those highlights.
