In saying that all SL clubs need to make sure they are running within their means, Saints cannot survive without Wigan and Warrington and vice-versa.
That is why I never understand when guys like LeBron 69 on here or Mav on Twitter (who I suspect is one and the same) celebrate when a big rival makes a financial loss, even more so when those rivals are the biggest teams in the game. If Saints and Wigan are making big losses, that’s an issue for the whole game and we should all be slightly nervous about it’s general health. There are reasons behind those losses and in both cases, the clubs are owned/part owned by guys who can cover it but it isn’t a good look and we need IMG to turn the tide across the board.
Genuinely don't understand how Wakefield were the only club to record a profit in FY2021. A year blighted by Covid, where attendances were impacted and players and staff still needed to be paid.

I know I cannot for the life of me understand why some idiot celebrates a team that is struggling with debt surely you would want RL to be viable and successful as a sport, after all most of us love the game as we give money and time to watch, play etc.As without teams to play we have no sport. If other teams supporters would travel in numbers like a Wigan or Saints or Warrington that would help the coffers going in to the clubs.

That was definitely an eyebrow raiser to say the very least.
as a shareholder of Saints the debts are not something to be happy about, but they are almost entirely owed to Eamonn McManus and Mike Coleman who both know the debt is either never retrievable or changed to debentures, it doesn't really effect the position of the club as if you add in the assets of the stadium it isn't an issue.

And in the same way most of the money owed by Wigan is to Ian Lenagan and/or his companies. Danson could buy every Superleague club with his pocket money!!
I would love every club to be profitable or at least break even
See you are doing it again bringing facts into it. I would also every club make a profit as without the teams we have no sport.
No one, outside of top 10 Soccer teams goes into a sport and expects to make a profit, they always hope to break even.
In fact, there is an old saying, "if you are in profit you aren't even really trying to be a successful team"
I believe what we are trying to say is that we all want the sport of RL to survive and maybe prosper. We are not soccer.
Burnley did.
Burnley’s new owners have bought the club with a loan and sold most of the players worth anything, they’ve invested a small amount of that and appointed a good manager but if I was a Burnley fan I’d be very worried if they don’t go up this season.

That's true but they still made a profit under their previous owners.

It's hard to judge as they only publish abridged accounts so we don't know if they counted the government covid loans as income or how they used the furlough scheme?

COVID and the furlough scheme has a lot to answer for.
