They set up a petition to keep him but i think he'd totally divided opinion with some loving him and the rest wanting rid of him.

That was the case. There was a strong rumour that the 'keep George' petition was a mickey-take.

That was the way I saw it at the time.

Under Wane we've had a pretty good record of getting the most out of players you wouldn't consider marquee signings.

I'm intrigued by this signing.

I mean, no one had any inkling that it was going to happen. Wests let him go six months into a two year contract. How did he get on Wigan's radar? He hasn't played representative rugby apart from one game for Samoa. Is getting a squad place for NZ back in 2009 enough? (That was 4 years ago)

He's 25 so not exactly young - he's probably reached his peak - but not exactly old so maybe has years left in him.

I've got tickets for the USA v Wales and USA v Scotland games but USA are probabaly the weakest nation of the 14 so playing in a side that gets tonked isn't going to tell us much I don't think.

I don't watch the NRL. Did anyone notice him last year?

I had heard that Madge had made enquiries about him when still at Wigan.
