I'm going on record saying I don't rate Brown and therefore don't want him at Wigan.

With the news that Fielden could be out till August I think that concludes his Wigan career. That's a big earner off the books and frees up some cash in the salary cap pot.

I'm of the opinion that Larne Patrick is one of the most talented British forwards in the game and the idea of pairing him up with Lee Mossop is just a mouth-watering prospect. Two of the best British forwards running around in Super League - and how many are there of any significant top quality? They both have the potential to be the next Morley/Peacock cornerstone of the England pack - I'd love him at Wigan.

I'd part ways with Stuart Fielden and swiftly offer Larne Patrick a big salary and a five-year contract and do everything I possibly could to entice him over to Wigan.

Patrick would certainly be my choice but I have 2 reason for thinking it's highly unlikely-

1- I read somewhere he's close to signing a new deal at Huddersfield

2- I don't remember a time under Lenagan we've signed a player if that bill. When it comes to the best English talent there's usually a bit of an auction and we just won't enter in to them. In the majority of cases like Shenton, Myler and McCarthy Scarsbrook we've been proved correct so who am I to question that logic.

I do however think we'd be wrong not to make a play for this lad if he becomes available. He looks like one of those Sam Burgess types that has the skills to play anywhere in the pack.

Id like to see more of Larne Patrick before I make my mind up, he's a decent player but IMO not as good as Sky as everyone else is making out. As for Fielden, we wouldn't benefit what so ever by releasing now as he's under contract, so we may as well keep him until the end of season.

Bradford on the verge of going bust, need £500K before mid-April or thats that. Anyone at Bradford we could give them a fee for, benefits both of us? Kearney for £100K?

I'd rather see Bradford survive than sign any of their players but I wouldn't mind burgess and crookes

Given his contract status ie expiring at the end of the year, I think any club could secure Burgess at a knock down rate, he value goes down every day. I do not think between 50-100k would be out of the question.

If we're going to be ruthless vultures (or just doing good business):

John Bateman, Craig Kopczak, Matt Diskin, Tom Burgess and Elliot Whitehead I'd be taking a look at.

John Bateman would be my main target. 18 years old and very, very talented.

But I sincerely hope Bradford survive. Terrible for the game to lose such an iconic club like Bradford.
