IL has stated that young players will not be 'thrown in' until physically and mentally ready. If we don't sign a winger I think Gelling will play there with burgess and manfredi getting some game time.

Such a move worked for Charnley, Mossop, Goulding, Prescott...etc!

Im hearing a small rumour that there's a little game of rugby on in Manchester this weekend coming.

Sam Tomkins aside there are very few young players that have gone directly into the 1st team without gaining valuable experience outside of the Wigan bubble. Now seeing that Sam Tomkins is arguably the most talented player we've EVER produced following in his footsteps probably isn't the best course of action.

Whilst wanting to see the team packed with Wigan lads is admirable it's foolish to want it straight away and also risks the development of these outstanding youngsters!

We should be sniffing around Carney for next year!

I heard we had a Comunity game to help promote a lesser known local side

With regards to the possible signings from London, does anyone think that it could be a similar issue to what happened with Crusaders? I.e. they're going to go bump and their players are going to be available to other SL teams without counting on the SC. There's a thread on the VT about their recruitment where a few posters are hinting this could be this case, no home ground for 2014 announced etc.

The young players can learn a lot of life skills in those towns... but seriously your judgement is sound - its worked before and it is consistent and thats the most important thing to a player - to be treated the same as the others
