But in order to get these expensive sighnings, you need to have a base of homegrown players too. Its all about striking a balance. We will be in a much stronger position going forward than many in the SL.

could anyone see us just promoting from the academy to replace the people who are going or rumoured to be?

Of course and we have that. Regardless of guys like Finch, Carmont and Leuluai moving on we'll be there or thereabouts but now we've tasted success we want that to continue. We need to make sure the balance of the side is right if that's to be the case.

There's no way we would lose Carmont, finch, Leuluai, o'loughlin, fielden and Roberts and not make any new signings.

New signings aren't the issue.

There's a report on SMH website that Adrian Morley is possibly going back to the Roosters to finish his career.

He is hopefully the English player from this side of the pennines spoke about on twitter as probably going to the NRL and not Lockers.

I know. But someone asked if anyone could see us just replacing those guys with lads from the academy, which we won't.

IMO tommy,finch and carmont are replaceable.

Totally agree.

It's not easy to replace the first 3 but it can be done and if done well it may even improve us.

Lockers can't be replaced. It doesn't matter who we signed they just won't have the same passion for Wigan or hold as much influence as Lockers does. It was much the same with Graham at Saints.
